THIS APRIL'S AIRWAY WORKSHOP HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO ACCOMODATE CONSULTANTS WORKING ON THE FLOOR
We will run an extra 2 practical sessions in the afternoon after the main workshop has finished from 1330-1500 & 1500-1630 for consultants and selected senior nurses*
This will enable consultants to leave the floor in 2 groups to attend.
The theoretical component of the workshop will be available through this site next week.
*Nurses will be notified by the nurse educators.

Includes demonstration of nurse led CPR and breakdown of the ALS script.
How to ALS video demonstration is included.
Session then breaks into 4 groups at 4 stations rotating through different ALS scenarios. ALS mannikin simulation enables the full range of cardiac arrest situations from basic cardioversion and pacing to trauma arrest management
This workshop covers all aspects of ventilation. The first hour is spent on the theory behind non invasive ventilation. A practical session follows with case based discussion. The following hours focus on invasive ventilation strategies. Dr Steve Pincus, our local ventilation guru gives an enlightening lecture on basic ventilation strategies and a comparison between PCV and VCV. The group then breaks up in to 4 smaller groups to workshop difficult ventilation scenarios using the oxylog ventilators
